The tripod can be used not only for lighting equipment such as mirrors and softboxes, but also for lighting cameras, but a ball head is required, otherwise you will not be able to use it with the camera. The size of the tripod is indeed very large (if all items are pulled out completely), so the lamp/camera can be easily installed high!
